June month update

June has been a busy yet satisfying month.
Some highlights from the month:
  • "The Wilderness Camp” was the hit of the month. It was conducted from 10th to 12th of June at our campsite in Jageshwar, Almora. From the feedback and the word of mouth it looks like it made the mark in terms of spreading our philosophy of relishing nature by engaging in responsible tourism and making the least impact on the natural setting of the place. It was heartening to see adults turn children bubbling with energy and letting themselves lose to enjoy the nature, as it is, raw and untouched! The greatest satisfaction came from the Thank You’s and the smiles from the members of the local community involved in organizing and running the camp. Needless to mention that some portion of our earnings goes to the local folks and community upliftment at large, which is one of the aims of The Green Locus
  • Creation of our facebook page: www.facebook.com/thegreenlocus. With the fans count reaching half a century mark in just 2 weeks, the start looks promising.
  • Football emerged as the sports best relished by everybody at our campsite. Volleyball and cricket were the other two.
  • Another camp took place in the last weekend of June with a smaller but equally energetic group.
  • With monsoons arriving, experience gets a whole new meaning. Hoping to develop a monsoon experience for travel enthusiasts!

To end it up with a quote:
“Experience, travel - these are as education in themselves” – Euripides (Greek playwright, c. 480-406 BC)
